Thomas Bergvik MA is a Nationally Certified Counselor and Licensed Professional Counselor practicing privately currently in Wallingford and Hamden, Ct.
Mr. Bergvik completed his MA in Mental Health Counseling at Argosy University in Sarasota, Florida in 2011. Additionally, he has had over 30 years of working in Social Services, much of it as a Case Manager in a variety of settings in the Mental Health Field. Mr. Bergvik prides himself in being an excellent relationship therapist while using Psychodynamic, Solution-Focused, and Reality Therapy based theories in his counseling sessions.

Mr. Bergvik, or Tom, as he likes to be called, has worked at Connecticut Valley Hospital, Connecticut Mental Health Center, and Mercy Housing and Shelter among others since he first began working in the field in 1973.
Education: Tom earned his Bachelor of Science Degree at Quinnpiac University in 1981 in Long Term Care Administration, completed Master of Social Work level courses at the University of Connecticut between 1994 and 2004, before earning his Master of Arts Degree in Mental Health Counseling at Argosy University in Sarasota, Florida in April 2011.
License, Certifications & Awards: Tom earned his certification as a Nationally Certified Counselor in May 2015. On 10/22/2013, Tom earned his license to practice in Connecticut.
Additional Training: Tom has worked with Clients who have experienced Trauma and attended seminars on PTSD as well. He has also attended trainings in crisis intervention counseling among a myriad of other trainings.
Professional Activities and Memberships: Tom is currently a member of both the Connecticut Counseling Association and the American Counseling Association.
